Lion Spoiler: Text2Speech with TextEdit, and Autosave Version
Over time, I happened to mention many, many times the small application TextEdit. Was snubbed by many as a simple notebook, reserves many surprises already in the version of Snow Leopard. Lion with no major changes will come for her, but some highlights of the whole system has a positive influence on its functionality.
If after saving you change something, it appears at the top right menu "Changed", from which you can block the resulting actions, restore the previous version, or access to a history of all the other versions.
Choosing the latter allows access to an interface similar to that of Time Machine (although this is not active) and you can find older versions, so choosing one to bring to light.
Then make a print, the preview can be seen immediately without pressing any buttons. Just in case you have to change other parameters will need to click Show Details.
Yesterday I reported that there will be Lion in the Italian voice for speech synthesis. Well in Cupertino have taken another big step forward as it will be possible to convert the text into an audio track and send it directly to iTunes.
As already noted for X and QuickTime to create screencasts improvements, TextEdit also acquires the functions that normally require the use of third-party software, such as the Text2Speech and the version history, now natively included in Lion.
Also improvements in the search function, which now seems more clear and similar to that of Safari:
