Google: Gmail empty boxes 150,000

Probably never happened that hundreds of thousands of Google users could no longer access their mail stored by Gmail. For a technical problem, in recent days by e-mail boxes of some 150,000 people have disappeared not only Gmail e-mail, but also the filters, labels and more.

According to what the people involved, would have encountered many difficulties in accessing their e-mail accounts, while those who managed to log a welcome message would appear as if the service was used for the first time. In this case, all the contents that were present in the inbox disappeared.

The search engine, via the official status of the service, has announced that the restoration of the situation prior to the "failure" has already happened to some users and will shortly be extended to all other service members who have found the problem

Google Box TV ARM-based: information from an internal

An alleged source inside Google has confirmed the upcoming launch of Google TV box based on ARM technology, thus presenting an alternative (perhaps much cheaper) option of the Intel CE4100. The source did not reveal whether the ARM-based platform was planned to replace or complement, the Intel, but confirmed the ongoing dialogue between ARM and Google last November 2010.

This news offers the prospect of a series of Google TV cheaper than seen so far. At present the most economical solution is offered through the box Logitech Revue, for $ 299 is based on the Intel CE4100. Sony has instead created a Blu-ray player integrated with Google TV, and Vizio has announced a pair of HD TVs with integrated Google your TV at CES 2011.

The price of a box with ARM technology could be around $ 100, but do not know which specific media.

Google will remove support for H.264 Chrome

Last year, Google has released the code of the VP8 codec WebMate and introduced the new format that is nothing but a stream Matroska. All major free projects added in a short time support for WebMate and Google also introduced him to YouTube.

Now comes the news that Big G is going to remove support for H.264 as the future version of Chrome codec for HTML5. The message is not explicit, but it is equally clear, will go to YouTube and H.264 WebMate will, in practice, almost put out of business, but the rest of the world will have time to adapt.

Also in this light we can read ads from a growing number of hardware manufacturers who choose to add the codec WebMate into their chip.

The buck will come into the hands of Apple and Microsoft. If the second if the can get away with future versions of the flash plugin which will introduce support for Apple WebMate the situation appears more critical.

Google Browser Body, explores the human body

From outer space to the human body step is quite long, but Google has decided to try it: if Google Earth allows you to make a virtual trip to the planet and even the universe, the new service launched by the search giant offers' opportunity to dive into an unlikely and fascinating tour of human anatomy. The result is Body Browser, landed in Google Labs and ready to be used by everyone.

Strongly marked by the teaching, Google Browser Body requires support WebGL technology to work: this implies the need to install on your computer to the latest versions in development of browsers such as Firefox or Chrome, or waiting for the implementation of the issues within stable. Once opened, the site of the service you are facing a digital representation of a person, a kind of mannequin to be explored in depth to understand the anatomical structure from their computer.
Through a series of buttons you can begin the journey level after level: each of these is an apparatus or a different view. From the apparatus to the skeletal muscles, the nervous system to organs for digestion, passing through the digestive heart, lung and other organ inside the human body. Muscles, nerves, etc. are accompanied by such a label to show the name and get more information by which to gather information about its operation or its structure.
He could not miss to search functionality in a Google branded product: a special box allows you to search by the names of the various organs or tissues, then to see the exact location within the body. The style of what we saw already in Google Maps you can then copy and paste the link into the address bar of your browser to suggest it to someone else who has the same view from the front, so you can show details and useful information.
