Android: historical overtake Symbian

The operating system also exceeds the piattoforma Google and Nokia to become the world's most popular. The reasons for success fulminant

Android before Symbian? Sooner or later it had to happen. But in a few (perhaps even the most optimistic among the top of Google) could be imagined that the pass so quickly. Even since last year. This is what tells us the latest report compiled by Canalys, which informs us that in the last quarter of last year's Android powered smartphone showed (for the first time) higher than sales of Symbian-based terminals (mainly Nokia): 32.9 million against 31, to be precise.

In terms of market share, therefore, becomes the Android platform under the 32.9% share, ahead of Symbian (30.6), Apple (16%), RIM (14.4%) and Microsoft (3, 1%). Data which capture a historic moment for the whole area of mobility, where the supremacy of Symbian lasted for about a decade.
