Google will remove support for H.264 Chrome

Last year, Google has released the code of the VP8 codec WebMate and introduced the new format that is nothing but a stream Matroska. All major free projects added in a short time support for WebMate and Google also introduced him to YouTube.

Now comes the news that Big G is going to remove support for H.264 as the future version of Chrome codec for HTML5. The message is not explicit, but it is equally clear, will go to YouTube and H.264 WebMate will, in practice, almost put out of business, but the rest of the world will have time to adapt.

Also in this light we can read ads from a growing number of hardware manufacturers who choose to add the codec WebMate into their chip.

The buck will come into the hands of Apple and Microsoft. If the second if the can get away with future versions of the flash plugin which will introduce support for Apple WebMate the situation appears more critical.
