We already knew that, probably, the next version of Android would be called Ice Cream. But now we know for sure that will be called Ice Cream Sandwich. According to a report in TechCrunch, the news comes straight from Andy Rubin, head of Android.
The technical explanation is far less than you might imagine. As you know, the release of Android lead all names are in alphabetical order and sweets (Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb). In addition, for each of them was erected a giant statue on the campus of Google, which represents the correspondent sweet.
Apparently, looking at the statue of Froyo (picture accompanying this post), that it had entered into an Ice Cream that is clearly distinct from that was a problem. From Italian it leaves us quite perplexed to think of a cone, right? A nice cup in three flavors?
